THE DOOM OF DOUBT

James 1:6-8 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

Some say to doubt God is the opposite of having faith. But actually it is faith….just faith against God!

When we doubt, we are saying “God is not good to His Word; He is not to be trusted: He is not of faithful character.”

DOUBT says, I don’t trust Him.

When He says He loves me, I don’t believe Him

When He says He can heal me, I don’t believe Him

When He says He wants to deliver me, I don’t believe Him

When He says, “I’ll get you through this”, I don’t believe Him.

Doubters are God’s antagonists. They irritate and insult His good character and faithful intentions! They cause Him to withdraw His hand of blessing, for He will not reward those who insult Him with their doubt.

In Mark 9:22-24 A demon possessed boy’s father asked, “Jesus, if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” Jesus replied, “If I can?” When the man realized his doubt was an insult to Jesus’ compassion and power, he begged Jesus, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Don’t let God find you in the doubter’s camp today! Repent of your unbelief in His good character and choose to place your faith in Him.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
